Hands on with latest build of Two Tribe’s Rive

By Keith MitchellJanuary 14, 2016

Rive, what can only be described as part SHMUP, part 2D platformer, that some how meet up with the essence of Fromsoftware’s Dark Souls games. A twin stick shooter that gives you access to 360 degrees of shooting and movement, Rive, pushes your SHMUP and platforming abilities to the test as it attempts to kill you just about every damn second. No, I’m not kidding you, death is around every corner, every element and what’s worse is that the game will taunt you every time you meet your demise.

Rive is beautiful, fast-paced and oh so deadly, but you won’t put it down. You can’t out it down as you’re compelled to get to the next area. Set for a 2016 release date, Rive has been in development for over 10 years, but will finally release this year on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U.

So enjoy me dying over and over…. just like I did in Dark Souls!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you want to get some more insight into what Rive is, be sure to check out the official website here.
