Disgaea is making its way to the PC!

By Keith MitchellNovember 16, 2015

You read right! NIS America has just announced that Disgaea is making its way to the PC via steam. The game is currently available to pre-order on steam now here, however the title won’t be released until Feb 2016. Yes, the very same game was only previously available on console is coming to the PC. Many will recognize Disgaea as tactical themed RPG, similar to Square’s Final Fantasy Tactics, that started out on the PlayStation 2 and has gone on to spawn multiple follow-ups, with the more recent Disgaea 5.

And while the series has been enjoyed more times that I can count, more recently there has been more and more request to have the series ported over to the PC platform and now NIS America has fulfilled that wish.

The required PC specs aren’t too bad either.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 10/8/7/Vista
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo 2.60 GHz
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT, ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5450 (OpenGL 3.0)
Hard Drive: 2 GB available space
Sound Card: Onboard

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10/8/7/Vista
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 3.30 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTS 450, ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5750
Hard Drive: 2 GB available space
Sound Card: Onboard

While there’s no footage of the game just yet, we have reached out to NIS America to see there is any b-roll or any upcoming footage from the game and we’ll update the article as soon as we get it, if it’s available that is.

Full press release below:

It is the rebirth of an era. NIS America is extremely proud and excited to announce that fans old and new will finally have the chance to experience the strategy title that catapulted Nippon Ichi Software, Inc. to their position as the most prolific Strategy RPG developer in the world: Disgaea—as Disgaea PC will be available on Steam worldwide in early 2016!

About the story:

In a world where all the rules are reversed and the demons rule, you may find yourself questioning your allegiance to ‘the light’ and rooting for the Netherworld’s most neglected antihero.

Two years after the death of his father, Overlord Krichevskoy, the demon prince Laharl awakens to discover that the Netherworld is in turmoil. With unlikely allies, his devious vassal Etna and the angel trainee Flonne, he must battle his way to supremacy to retake the throne and become the next Overlord. Experience the SRPG classic, now on PC!

Features:

Optimized for PC: The development team has taken special care to optimize the world of Disgaea for the PC with support for a myriad of screen sizes, new keyboard and mouse controls, updated tile textures, as well as an optimized user interface. The Definitive Version of the First Disgaea: This slick revival includes all the content of the original game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, as well as content like Etna Mode that was added to its PSP® port! For new players, and fans of the series alike, this will be the version to have in your collection. All new Steam integrations: With the jump to Steam, Disgaea PC now includes extras such as Steam Achievements to compete with your friends, Cloud Saves, Badges and trading cards. Now hitting level 9999 isn’t just a personal moment of pride, it’ll be one you can share.

You asked for it people and now NIS American is delivering, so make sure you get your copy pre-ordered today. Maybe we’ll get more titles in the Disgaea series next!
