WWE 2K16 DLC Content/Season Pass Details

By Karl SmartOctober 10, 2015

The final piece of the puzzle has been found. A couple of days ago 2K Games released information about their DLC plans, Season Pass & Digital Deluxe Edition. 2K’s DLC offerings put a significant emphasis on WWE Legends, both in the enshrined WWE Hall of Fame members being added to the WWE 2K16 roster as well as through the newly-announced 2K Showcase mode, plus more NXT talent added to the roster as well.

  • The WWE Legends pack will include:
    • Big Boss Man
    • Dusty Rhodes
    • Lita
    • Mr. Perfect
    • “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
    • Trish Stratus
  • The Future Stars Pack will include:
    • Samoa Joe
    • El Matadors: (Diego & Fernando)
    • Blake and Murphy
  • The additional 2K Showcase mode will put a spotlight on rivalries through history and a dream match, including:
    • “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
    • Rikishi vs. The Rock
    • Dream Match: Alundra Blayze vs. Paige
    • Larry Zbyszko & Arn Anderson vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat & Dustin Rhodes
    • Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Ric Flair
    • The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. The Natural Disasters (Typhoon & Earthquake)
    • The Outsiders (Kevin Nash & Scott Hall) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray)

Other DLC content is the usual New Moves Pack, an update for the move lists of WWE stars and outside talent; the Accelerator, which unlocks all content instantly as well as allowing you to increase the stats of you Create-A-Superstar to maximum right away. The final thing is a brand new addition “MyPlayer Kickstart”, offered only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will also give players the chance to boost their chosen Superstars in the game’s MyCareer mode.

As always, WWE 2K16 fans will have the ability to obtain nearly all of the DLC offerings through 2K’s Season Pass. The WWE 2K16 Season Pass will cost $24.99 and will deliver DLC additions as soon as they become available.

Gamers seeking to secure a bit more of 2K’s DLC offerings can also do so through the WWE 2K16 Digital Deluxe Editions, which are now available for pre-order on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PlayStation 3. Those editions will offer the following:

  • PlayStation 4 system and Xbox One ($89.99):
    • Copy of WWE 2K16,
    • WWE 2K16 Season Pass,
    • MyPlayer KickStart, and
    • Theme (PlayStation 4 system only; available immediately with pre-order purchase).
  • PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 ($79.99):
    • Copy of WWE 2K16,
    • WWE 2K16 Season Pass, and
    • Theme (PlayStation 3 system only, available immediately with pre-order purchase).

WWE 2K16 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. WWE 2K16 is currently scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, Xbox One and Xbox 360, on Oct. 27, 2015, in North America and Oct. 30, 2015, internationally. Review available in written and video formats by our own Clinton Bowman & Karl Smart once the game goes to retail.
