SNK Playmore announce King of Fighters XIV for the PlayStation 4

During the 2015 Pre-TGS conference, SNK Playmore had announced that the King of Fighters series was still alive and that it was in the process of working on King of Fighters XIV. Set as a PlayStation 4 only title currently, it seems that this King of Fighters will forgo the traditional 2D hard-drawn look and replacing it will be 3D CGI graphics. SNK fight fans may remember this still appearing in another KOF game, King of Fighters: Maximum Impact.

However while I’m happy to see that the fan favorite series is still alive, something I didn’t expect after SNK Playmore was acquired by Leyou Technologies earlier this year, I’m sad to see the game in the state that is in. I’m referring to art change, as the 3D being shown is really lacking, if the video and screen captures are any indication. The title is set for a 2016 release in Japan and hopefully the game is giving some moving, especially since it will be going up against other 3D fighting games of a higher caliber.

I feel for you, KOF fans!
