While Wayforward was giving us subtle hints there was a new Mighty Switch Force! game in the works, we didn’t know that we’d get to play it so soon, but we are. Recently announced, Mighty Switch Force! Academy will be available via Steam Early Access, as early as 12PM! And while the name is familiar to many of us, the game in this new spin-off will actually be a tad, er… a lot different. Take a look at the screenshots to see what I mean, the game is actually played via the entire screen.

On top of that, the game will also feature several different ways to play:
- VS. Mode – a new competitive mode where players will battle other players to rescue the most hooligan sisters, pickup upgrades, and try to crush their opponents.
- Mighty Shot (it works but isn’t implemented through menu flow).
- The goal for the final level count (not including classic stages) is between 25-30, but this is ttentative
- Steam Leaderboards and Achievements.
- Additional victory illustrations.
- New “phase-in” animations for Gendarmor, Ugly Twitching Dog, and the Hooligan Sisters.
- New level songs.
- More robust options as the community makes requests.
