League of Legends: Saintvicious joins Coast as New Head Coach

By Walter MackMay 19, 2015

Whether you love him or hate him (and there seems to be no middle ground), Brandon “Saintvicious” DiMarco is one of the most known faces in the League of Legends scene. One of the oldest players, Saint is perhaps known best for being Team Curse’s Jungler. He later stepped down and took on a coaching position for Team Curse before jumping back in briefly as the starting Support. Shortly after, both Saint and Curse’s starting AD Carry, David “Cop” Roberson joined sister team Curse Academy and made it out of the Challenger Series and into the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), upon where the team re-branded into Gravity Gaming.

Team Coast on the other hand was founded in 2013. While never dominant, the team does have some loyal fans and has held players that have gone on to make a name for themselves, such as ZionSpartan (Counter Logic Gaming), Shiptur (Dignitas), WizFujiiN/Apollo (Team Impulse), and Santorin (Team Solomid). Coast was recently relegated out of the LCS and back into the Challenger Series after finishing in last place with a 1-17 record. With the current roster, Team Coast comprises of Cristian “Cris” Rosales on Top Lane, Dillon “WTHeaven” Stayner on Jungler, Brandon “Mash” Phan on AD Carry, and Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon on Support. Jesse “Jesiz” Le was the starting Mid Laner, but was replaced by Zachary “Mancloud” Allan Hoschar. However, with Mancloud’s departure from Team Coast, we’ve to see if Jesiz will be reset as a starter.

Saintvicious will be reunited with former teammate Cody “Elementz” Sigfusson, who currently holds a coaching position on Coast.

Walter is a California native. He is currently in his last year of college pursuing a B.A. in English, but is often mistaken for a freshman...or a middle school tourist on occassion. His earliest gaming experience was Pokemon Red version on the Gameboy color, which he played actively. He would dabble with the Nintendo 64 and Playstation 2 for a bit before transitioning to many years of F2P MMOs. He then moved on to League of Legends, with whom he as an on and off again relationship. He currently spends most of his game time on his Playstation 4. He's also a bit of a Marvel nut.
