Yep, Sunset Overdrive has been confirmed to run at 900p

By Keith MitchellSeptember 26, 2014

Here we go again boys and girls. Yet another fantastic looking and supposedly fun filled adventure that’s set for the Xbox One, only to run at a sub-par 900p vs that promised and oh so wonderful 1080p. Sigh! I was hoping that the team over at Insmoniac Games would be able to make this gem shine and run at 1080p but they weren’t, but they don’t seem to be that concerned about it either.

We’re running at 900p and 30 fps native. This is a game with a lot on the screen and we made the choice to be at 900 because we wanted to push the level of detail, action, the size of the city and the views you can experience as move around. What’s great about Sunset Overdrive is if you can see it, you can go there.

So while there’s plenty of on screen action going on I suppose running at 900p is the compromise, I suppose. Maybe it’s just me but the promise of new hardware was also supposed to usher in that age of better graphics and higher game resolutions. A promise that the Xbox One so far hasn’t held up it’s end.

What do you think about Sunset Overdrive running at 900p? Does it bother you and will you still pick up the game? I know I still will.

Sunset Overdrive set to be released on October 28, 2014, in North America.
