Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax adds Valkyria Chronicles’ Selvaria and Alicia

By Holland CulbreathSeptember 19, 2014

Valkyries Selvaria and Alicia in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

Great news, fighting game fans. Selvaria Bles and Alicia Melchiott from the cult classic Valkyria Chronicles are coming to the upcoming console release of Sega’s new fighter Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

Two of the titular Valkyria, Selvaria joins the cast as a playable main character, with Alicia providing backup as an assist.

Selvaria Bles

Selvaria Bles was one of the main enemy commanders in Valkyria Chronicles. A ridiculously powerful soldier unit in her own right, she is also the main Valkyria featured in the game. Despite being a major villian, Selvaria became a huge fan favorite due to her DLC chapter showing her surprisingly charming personality outside of combat, amazing combat prowess, and amazing Valkyria powers (The fact that she’s ridiculously hot helps too). Virtually unstoppable once she taps into her Valkyria powers, she’s more powerful than tanks and heavy artillery with her Ragnite Lance and Shield.

Alicia Melchiott

Alicia Melchiott was one of the main scout units of your Squad 7 of Gallia. A cheerful baker’s girl and a fearsome warrior, she is one of your squad’s main leaders and one of the closest friends (and later wife) of Squad 7’s Tank Commander Welkin Gunther. Unbeknownst to her through the majority of the game, Alicia is also a Valkyria, with latent powers of her own that match or even surpass Selvaria’s. She’ll use both those powers and her skills as a soldier to provide backup in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

This has been my personal favorite announcement for the roster of this game since Misaka Mikoto and Kamijou Touma of To Aru Majutsu no Index were announced. Being a huge fan of Valkyria Chronicles, I couldn’t be more excited for two of my favorite characters from that game being included in the cast. Who are you looking forward to using? Let me know in the comments.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is scheduled to release November 13, 2014 for PS3 and Vita in Japan.
