Bandai-Namco set to launch “Short Peace” into North America on September 30th

Prepare to go on a wildly whimsical and spectacular ride with SHORT PEACE in less than a week! Bandai-Namco Games America Inc. announced that the SHORT PEACE anime movie project along with the Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day video game will launch together in the Americas as a multimedia movie and game combination on Tuesday, September 30th exclusively on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3.

The widely acclaimed SHORT PEACE Japanese four-part film anthology features dazzling works by the famed anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo, who is best known for his popular dystopian cult film Akira. The entire SHORT PEACE project boasts masterful artistry that celebrates the unique qualities of Japanese culture using animation as a storytelling art form.

Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day stands as the fifth and final piece of the project in the form of a fast-paced side-scrolling game directed by Suda51 (Killer is Dead & No More Heroes). With Suda51’s reputation for wonderfully idiosyncratic games, gamers can expect Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day to be an abstract, bizarre and exhilaratingly frenzied gaming experience.

Ranko Tsukigime, the only child of the underground “Tsukigime Enterprise” is an average high school girl by day and a deadly assassin by night. While taking on a new mission, an enemy organization threatens the lives of Ranko and her friends. This 2D fast-paced side-scrolling action game will draw players deeper into the schoolgirl/assassin’s thrilling life, and serves as a video game tie-in to Katsuhiro Otomo’s four-part anime compilation project, SHORT PEACE. POSSESSIONS, GAMBO, A Farewell to Weapons and COMBUSTIBLE are joined by the fifth and final part of the project, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day. Players will put their reflexes and quick judgment to the test in fast-paced platforming gameplay that will have them blazing through dangerous, obstacle-ridden environments to flee from an ominous enemy looming close behind.

We actually covered this title a few months back as we got a hands on of the title and we’re happy to see that it’s finally getting a North America releases. For more info on the game head on over to shortpeace-movie.com/jp/.
