Bandai-Namco has announced that they will be release DLC for Dark Souls II in the form of three episodic chapters called “The Lost Crowns”. The first chapter titled “Crown of the Sunken King” will have players questing to retrieve the lost crown of King Vendrick, which will take players into a completely new underground area. The second and third episodes will involve the retrival of the “Crown of the Old Iron King”  the “Ivory Crown”.

“It is said that one of the ancient crowns lay buried deep within these dark caverns; but surely such a valued item cannot sit unguarded. Players that seek adversity and glory will be rewarded with a crown that holds the strength of lords from times long past.“

Part one of the DLC will be released for the Xbox 360 and PC on July 22nd,  July 23rd for the  PlayStation 3.  The 2nd episode will follow on August 26th/27th and the 3rd and final episode will release on September 24th/25th for $9.99 or you can purchase a season pass (Only the PC currently) for $24.99. On top of this it has been reported that each DLC will in acheivements or trophies unlike the original DLC for Dark Souls 1.

I’m a huge fan of the Demon & Dark Souls games and was pretty bummed that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy any more Dark Souls II after beating it for the 3rd time. I’m happy to see that Takeshi Miyazoe and crew decided that the fans would love to venture into the world of Drangleic again. For a moment I was worried that I’d have to wait until next year of beyond to take another stab at a Soul Series game  and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m referring to the upcoming “Project “Beast” from Sony Japan and FROMSOFTWARE.

Praise the Sun indeed!
