Mario Kart 8 is looking damned good and bundles.

Regardless if you’re not a fan of Nintendo or any of their recent consoles, you can’t deny that Mario Kart 8 has been building up some hype for the past few months and for good reason. Just check out the new trailer that was just released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWQK60V9KTg

Darn Nintendo, I may just have to get a WiiU for this game as this is actually the first Mario Kart in a long long time that has my interest, the last one was Mario Kart: Double Dash. But there’s more! This time they went all out with the Multiplayer aspect as now you can race with up to 12 players online, there are four different modes to choose from that include Friends, Worldwide, Regional and Tournament matches.  And hey, they even have a counter for the blue shell now!

And while we’re speaking about Mario Kart 8 let’s talk bundles. Last week Nintendo announced that they would release a Mario Kart 8 bundle in Europe but had left US gamers waiting to see if they would also get the same treatment. Well the wait is over as Nintendo announced in their recent “Nintendo Direct” that they will also release a Mario Kart 8 bundle fot $329.99 and will include;

  • 32GB WiiU Deluxe console
  • Red Mario Kart 8 Wii Remote Plus
  • Red Mario Wii Wheel accessory
  • Extra downloadable game when you purchase the bundle  or game separately and register it on Club Nintendo. Games include Pikmin 3, Wii Party U, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and New Super Mario Bros. U .

I would have preferred a red WiiU as a limited edition run but I guess tehy have to do something with all those WiiU’s that haven’t been selling. Either way it’s an exciting time if you like Mario Kart (or F-zero)!

Mario Kart 8 launches onto the WiiU on May 30th, 2014.
