On December 13th, 2013, Valve sent out 300 prototypes of their Steam Machine out to 300 lucky participants and several of those lucky folks have already received their units and have been posting videos and pictures of the boxing of the unit as well as the unit in action.
Keep in mind that the units sent out from Valve are prototypes for their ongoing SteamOS testing. Valve themselves will not be selling a Steam Machine and instead will partner with multiple hardware vendors to build several models (Good / Better / Best) of the Steam Machine and we’ll see who those vendors are, well other than ibuypower and Digital Storm, at the 2014 CES event.
