If you are like me and have Googled to oblivion for a resolution to this problem that 2.5 Dimensional Seduction Angels On Stage is having, then Rival Battle is straight-up not working for you. I am a free-to-play player and use Rival Battle daily to try and get better accessories for my characters.
Recently when you hop on to the rival battle screen it has a lock symbol on Nagomi. Then when you press on the lock it unlocks, but instantly takes you to the home screen afterwards. It’s such a pain in the rear to encounter, but luckily Twitter is much more helpful to find information on this issue and how to resolve it.
You can resolve this issue by transitioning to the "Story" screen, so please give it a try. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.#riristage

Select rival battle, when it pops you back to the home screen select the story screen. Once there you will see a little rival unlocked message and then pressing on that will clear the lock away from Nagomi. Now go back to the rival screen and you should be able to attempt it once again.
