The Boys Releases Ad That’s “Too Patriotic” For Super Bowl Day

By Todd BlackFebruary 11, 2024
The Boys

Whether you watch it or not, The Boys has easily become one of the most insane yet oddly poignant superhero series out there. It walks a very specific line, and it doesn’t shine away from that. It’s raunchy, in your face, very political, and quite literally adapts to the times we’re in. It’s still a superhero show, but it’s so much more than that. Today, the hit streaming show dropped an ad that was deemed “Too Patriotic” by the “owners” of Vought International and thus won’t be shown during the Super Bowl today.

As you’ll see below, the ad pokes fun at various Super Bowl commercials that try to deem themselves as “American-made” and “like the people of the US” before going right into selling a product. You know, like all true Super Bowl commercials do. We do get some glimpses of the upcoming season, but the “intent” is much more hilarious.

Currently, there’s no release date for The Boys Season 4, but this ad might be indicating that a new trailer could be coming soon. Until then, enjoy the game…and a Turbo Rush.
