Isn’t it nice when game developers encourage one another to do go and don’t think of one another solely as competition? Recently, the biggest game release of the month happened when Hollow Knight Silksong finally dropped. It was an instant success in all the ways that matter, and Team Cherry raked in both the praise and the dough. Now, though, they’re getting adulation from another indie developer who had a big hit this year: Sandfall Interactive. Not only did the team behind Clair Obscur Expedition 33 send them a nice tweet, but they did some custom art featuring some of their characters together!
Congratulations Team Cherry on the release of Silksong, a precious game made with love and care❤️@TeamCherryGames #silksong pic.twitter.com/vYvxy5sJXy

Why does this matter? Because it’s two indie gaming teams who did things their way, waited until their games were truly ready for release, and then reaped the rewards of their efforts. Just as important, both of these titles are likely to be “Game of the Year” nominees by all accounts, which would be incredible in multiple ways.
Just as important is the fact that the success of both of these games guarantees more content from both dev teams. Both Team Cherry and Sandfall Interactive have confirmed that their games will continue to get content. So, fans just have to wait and see what both sides create next for Hollow Knight Silksong and Clair Obscur.
