I think it’s fair to say that Only Murders In The Building has become one of the biggest successes of the streaming era, and definitely one of the biggest hits Hulu has ever had. The quirky, hilarious, and dramatic show starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez has wowed people ever since it premiered a few years ago. Plus, as I noted in my review of Season 3, things are still as good as ever. What has fans eager about Only Murders In The Building Season 4 is the potential of the new mystery and what might all happen with it. Thankfully, we do have some key information to share.
First up, Only Murders In The Building Season 4 will see the first “scenery change” for the show since its start, as everyone is going to L.A. to figure out who murdered Sazz (played by Jane Lynch, who died in the season finale.) This might lead to some “fish out of water” experiences, and I’m here for it! Second, as noted by ComicBook.com, Merryl Streep will return as new favorite Loretta, who charmed everyone (including me!) in season 3. That will no doubt make one Oliver Putnam very happy.
Finally, Variety reports that Molly Shannon is joining the show as a “high-powered L.A. Businesswoman” attached to the case. Not much else is known about her character, but she’s like the first of many to be cast in this new setting.
While Season 4 doesn’t have a release window yet, it’s clear they’re ramping things up for filming, and I can’t wait to see where this next mystery goes!
