Hour-Long Nintendo Direct Drops This Week

By Todd BlackSeptember 10, 2025
Nintendo Direct

Let’s get right to it, shall we? There have been PLENTY of rumors and speculation about a new Nintendo Direct coming this week, and that this could be the next “true Direct” to tell us what’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, and technically the OG Switch, this year and next. This morning, Nintendo confirmed that it really is happening, and it’s happening on Friday, and the Direct will be an hour long. Yes, we’re getting an hour-long Direct full of game announcements for the two Nintendo systems, and that should fill us all with joy:

Join us on Sept 12 at 6am PT for a #NintendoDirect! Tune in for roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games.

More than likely, we’ll get not only new game announcements, but release dates for key titles like Metroid Prime 4 and Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment. As for those new game announcements, they’re likely to be ones that’ll come out in 2026, to show what Nintendo fans have to look forward to. We could also get some new “Switch 2 Editions” of certain key games to fill up certain spots on the calendar.

Plus, the Nintendo Direct is likely to have lots of 3rd party games getting announced, including hopefully some well-deserved ports and new exclusives.

We’ll have our recap of the Direct up once the presentation is done, so stay tuned!
