Evo USA 2025: More Fighting Game Reveals Coming Sunday

By Kevin KellyAugust 2, 2025
Evo 2025 two games remain

Evo USA 2025 is upon us. Along with some of the fiercest competitions within each tour that skips across from it, such as Tekken 8, Street Fighter VI, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, comes what could be happening in the near future. The major has had some monumental reveals in the past, and this month’s Evo USA seems to follow suit. Sunday is targeted to be the day to stick around for the news post the finals.

Usually, most publishers unleash their announcements around the last day. For instance, a gauntlet of reveals happened in the last Evo USA, from Capcom Fighting Collection 2 being released this year, to some of the last fighters to come to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Also, the former protagonist turned final boss, Heihachi, is trying to pull a fast one on viewers for Tekken 8 and surviving death itself. The Evo account seems to indicate that through a post.

Tune in on Sunday to hear from the Invincible VS, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Virtua Fighter, TEKKEN, Street Fighter, and more.

Tune in to Day 1 of #Evo2025 to catch this year's Evo Showcase, featuring a variety of exhibitions, panels, and other programming!

As to what might come could be foretold through the post. For this year, Tekken 8’s Armor King’s gameplay will be shown at the event, for starters. Cyberpunk Edgerunners star Lucy will be seen in Guilty Gear -Strive-. Ken will also be stepping into South Town at the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves presentation and demo, too.  Upcoming fighters Invincible VS and 2XKO will also get more news alongside their demos for attendees to try out.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection is definitely a talking point for Netherrealm studios. Virtua Fighter’s return to Evo might even bring about another character to join Wolf “The Hitman” Hawkfield in the New VF Project. Other surprises could be seeing how the new roster for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will round out.

If I were to predict anything else, we could be seeing the final Tekken 8 Season 2 challenger and a possible glimpse at Joe Higashi in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, since Ken’s gameplay and release date are a given. Capcom Fighting Collection 3 would be a stretch since I’d be thinking that the aim would be to finally bring the entirety of the Street Fighter EX trilogy home to modern consoles. Arika might be willing to discuss since Fighting EX Layer has been out.  Digital Eclipse has also expressed interest in bringing Virtua Fighter back in collection form with other Sega Saturn-based fighting games, so there’s that possibility, also.

There might be more to come, so it’s best to follow Evo as well as TheOuterHaven for more.
