Over the last few weeks, Nintendo has been dropping “Creator’s Voice” videos to provide some unique insights into some of the 3rd party developers who are making games for the Nintendo Switch 2. We heard from Square Enix, we’ve heard the head of From Software talk in a written interview, and today, we got the top two men behind Gearbox Software and Borderlands 4 coming into view to talk about what makes the game special and why bringing it to the new console is a cool thing.
One of the big things that CEO Randy Pitchford notes right off the bat is that the game isn’t being ported to the console, it’s being made FOR the console, which is a huge difference. As such, it’ll be able to use things like the Joy-Con mouse controls, GameChat and other features the Nintendo Switch 2 has.
Both Pitchford and CCO Randy Varnell noted that, for them, gaming really started with Nintendo, so it was a true honor to bring their newest title onto the Switch 2 platform at launch. After praising Nintendo a bunch, the duo also talked about how big Borderlands 4 will be compared to past titles. There will be a “seamless world” you can travel to and go nuts in. Furthermore, the team spent the last six years refining and growing everything so that the maximum amount of quality could be on display.
The mayhem awaits you.
