Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Remasters Announced For Nintendo Switch

Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 remasters, Nintendo Switch 2

During the September Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has knocked it out of the part with a number of announcements, but perhaps none better than the reveal that Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is getting a remaster for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. These games will be sold separately priced at $39.99 each, or in a package priced at $69.99.

And while we only got to see a brief look at the game, and video YouTube’s compression, we can easily see that the visuals have gotten a bump, and there are less jaggies. Plus, a free update will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 that adds 4K resolution support for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

It’s pretty exciting to see that Nintendo is decided to remaster these gems. I spent a lot of time with both of these games; alongside my kids and I’ll be able to replay them all over again. Well, there goes whatever time I had left.

Not to mention, this corrects a huge mistake of not including both Super Mario Galaxy titles in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection, that Nintendo released back in 2020.

Gamers can expect the same great goodness that made both games so good, plus it’s been revealed that Rosalina’s Storybook will be featured in both games, where it was original only available in the first Super Mario Galaxy title, and will have extra pages.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 remasters will be available for the Nintendo and will come in both physical and digital forms, on October 2, 2025

Lastly, whenever Nintendo announces a new game, there’s usually amiibos to follow and this time is no different, as Nintendo has also revealed two new ones. New amiibos of Mario and Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy have been shown and will be released on April 2nd, 2026.
