Mario Kart World Has Insane Attach Rate On Nintendo Switch 2

An obvious fact, but still impresive.

As we wait for the next Nintendo Direct to arrive, which may be as soon as next week, we must take a look at the releases that have happened on the Nintendo Switch 2 and how well they are doing. Sadly, we don’t have definitive numbers for Donkey Kong Bananza just yet, but Mario Kart World (read my review!) is a different story.

It was the launch title for the console and was bundled with it at launch for a discounted rate. Though if you couldn’t get that, you could buy them separately. As we’ve covered before, on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, the game has done really well, but specific numbers are always a good thing to have.

For example, we already know that it’s sold over 6 million units, based on both Nintendo’s official financial numbers for the “month” of launch, plus the numbers that have come out since. However, as Stealth noted on his Blue Sky page, the attachment rate for the game is 97%!

Mario Kart World has a 97% attach rate.As of Nintendo's latest financials, literally almost everyone who owns a Switch 2, owns Mario Kart World. It's selling good because the Mario Kart World Switch 2 hardware bundle is selling amazing worldwide.

The bundle is a key part of its victory, as well as being the launch title for the game. It may seem obvious that it’s attachment rate would be high, but you need to remember that “certain people” were thinking the game would fail, especially with Mario Kart World having an $80 price tag outside the bundle. Yet, it has sold well on both sides of the equation, and it’s likely to be the game that most people get when they eventually get their Nintendo Switch 2 systems, as currently, it and Donkey Kong Bananza are the only exclusives available.
