Fate Trigger Announces Closed Beta Test With New Trailer

Key Art For Fate Trigger Closed Beta Test July 24th

Saroasis Studios, a team of passionate developers dedicated to crafting high-quality games for global audiences, is kicking off the Closed Beta Test (CBT) for its eagerly awaited free-to-play anime hero shooter, Fate Trigger, and unveiling its new gameplay trailer. Players signed up to the CBT can jump into the action starting from July 24, 2025 at 7 PM PST (10 PM EST), on Steam.

Fate Trigger: Tactical Gameplay, Meets Casual Drop-in Fun

With gamers feeling the burnout from high-commitment game titles, casual Battle Royales that deliver strategic depth and pure fun are carving out space in today’s gaming landscape. Add in the growing love for animated characters inspired by the explosive popularity of animated TV shows and games, as evidenced in part by Japan’s tourist surge. Fate Trigger delivers creative, high-intensity fun with a low barrier to entry thanks to flexible gameplay mechanics that embrace the eccentricity of its animated reality. Its stylized, animated design makes room for wild ideas like flying cars and mid-air combat opportunities, creating an over-the-top playground without the constraints of realism.

Following overwhelming demand from over 300,000 applicants during the Closed Alpha Steam Playtest and early praise from top streamers like xQc, Fate Trigger has continued to build momentum since its reveal at Tokyo Game Show 2024. Now, the excitement enters its next phase: starting today, sign-ups are officially open for the Steam CBT, launching on July 24, 2025 at 7 PM PST (10 PM EST). Players can look forward to a wave of bold new updates, including new playable characters and expanded features.

What’s New in the Fate Trigger CBT?

In anticipation, viewers will get to see what bold new updates are rolling out to Fate Trigger, starting with the latest teaser trailer launching the same day as the beta test.

  1. Brand New Characters: Fate Trigger’s CBT will unveil three all-new heroes, including the highly anticipated Bloodprowler Ryoin, a wolf animoid that can morph into a werewolf, giving him a boost of powers that allows him to move faster and jump higher during combat. In addition, two additional characters – including Crystalscar Cynric and Lootracer Mindy – will also be available to test during the CBT for a total of ten playable characters.

  2. New Game Modes: The classic battle royale mode is getting an upgrade for gamers who enjoy more variety from traditional battle royales. New game modes available during Fate Trigger’s CBT will include Ranked Matches, Quick Trials and an 8v8 Team Deathmatch mode.

  3. Larger Map, New Weapons, New Vehicle: Alongside Fate Trigger’s extensive lineup of weapons and eccentric rides built for fast traversal, players can now enjoy five additional new weapons, and also get behind the wheel of two brand new vehicles. Enter the all-terrain armored SUV: a plated beast with closable windows designed to withstand enemy assaults or push through danger zones. For fast, stealthy flanks behind enemy lines, players can also jump on a brand new motorcycle and make their move.

Fate Trigger Core Features

Beyond its stunning Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals, Fate Trigger offers a deep roster of characters, each equipped with unique ultimate skills that make teamwork essential. Victory isn’t just about reflexes. It’s about strategy and finding a dynamic mix of the diverse hero abilities and skill sets you can choose from, such as rapidly building a pixel wall to tank enemy shots on the front line; cloaking your squad in a mist to confuse or lower your opponent’s defenses; keeping everyone alive as the team’s healer, or more.

Designed to reward coordinated play and skillful execution, Fate Trigger offers a plethora of opportunities that might turn the tide of battle so you’re the final team standing. For instance, players can purchase special power-ups for your armor or weapon at designated stations that offer a slight but meaningful strategic edge in combat. Plus, with engaging gameplay features like beautifully crafted floating islands, dynamic terrain, and a variety of fun in-game traversal items like gliders, hover cars, and portals, Fate Trigger offers game mechanics that not just rival but offer creative possibilities not found in top FPS titles. Players can find new angles to gain the upper hand, surprise flanks to outmaneuver their enemies, or escape danger through new routes as the playzone shrinks.

Fate Trigger leverages Unreal Engine 5 to render 2D animated characters into 3D heroes with high precision. A custom neural-network simulator drives realistic motion for elements like hair, clothing, and character skirts, to showcase 2D characters in a way rarely seen in the genre that gives off the feeling that the characters believably come to life in 3D. This innovative approach not only enhances immersion but also enables the game to scale seamlessly to massive 100-player battles without compromising visual fidelity.

Fate Trigger not only makes for a fun title that offers high-stakes competitive fun that’s easy to jump into, but also offers a playground of strategy, movement, and surprise that’s built for both skillful play and spontaneous fun. Fate Trigger is also notably setting the stage for its entry into esports, with dedicated competitions on the horizon.

Fate Trigger will be available across platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile platforms.
