The Sonic The Hedgehog Movies Have Crossed $1 Billion At The Box Office

...and they'll be adding to it!

Sonic The Hedgehog 3

So, how big can the Sonic The Hedgehog movie franchise get? It seems that the sky is truly the limit! First off, the third film is doing really well at the box office right now, with it having reached $300 million globally. That’s pretty good, considering it had steep competition during the holiday season via a certain Disney film, which Sonic did NOT lose to in the American box office…seriously, stop saying that, Disney; you’re embarrassing yourselves! As the tweet below notes, it’s made well above its budget, and that’s pretty cool.

Oh, but there’s more to this story! As noted by another Twitter source, with this latest estimate, the entire trilogy of films has now crossed one billion dollars at the box office:

It’s honestly hard to believe to an extent, right? After all, we went from a disastrous first trailer featuring “Ugly Sonic” to becoming a franchise complete with three films, a spinoff, and a fourth film already confirmed to be in the works! It goes to show what can happen when you listen to fans and have someone behind the camera that truly loves the franchise.

Treat yourself to a chili dog, Sonic The Hedgehog! You deserve it!
