Double Dragon Revive Will Make An Appearance at The Game Awards

It wasn’t too long ago that Arc Systemworks along with Yuke’s, revealed it was working on a new chapter of the classic Double Dragon beat ’em up series. It’s one that I’ve been frustrated with the lack of information about the game, however, ArcSys is looking to finally give us an update on the game once The Game Award Show gets here.

For those who might not be familiar, Double Dragon Revive looks to be a 3D Double Dragon game, starring Billy and Jimmy Lee, along with a few surprises. It won’t be a remake of the original game as it was initially reported, and the game takes place after a nuclear war—wait, wasn’t that the same setting for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons? Get ready for a nostalgia overload as the Lee Brothers step into the modern age, bringing back their iconic cyclone kicks to take down enemies—at least, that’s the hope!

The next update for #DoubleDragonRevive will be unveiled at #TheGameAwards.Get ready for a brand-new chapter of innovative side-scrolling action!Details will be revealed during the event. Stay tuned!#TheGameAwards

As for what the news will be, I haven’t the slightest. Regardless, Double Dragon is a series I’ve played in Arcades, the NES, Super NES, and various other consoles, with the latest being Dragon Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons.

The Game Awards show airs on December 12, 2024, at 4:30 PT, and 7:30 ET, and will be hosted on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, TikTok Live, and Twitter.
