New Nintendo Switch Rumor States Console Will Get Two More Re-Releases In 2025

...it won't be Xenoblade Chronicles X, though, will it?

Nintendo Switch 2

Whether gamers liked it or not, one of the defining characteristics of the Nintendo Switch has been the simple fact that it’s had a TON of games re-release on it ever since launch. It started with titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and just recently, we got the remaster/remake of Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door. On the one hand, these ports have pretty much always done well on Switch and sometimes became multi-million-sellers. On the other hand, many were disappointed when these kept popping up instead of new games. If you’re hoping this trend stops next month with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, you’re likely in route to disappointment.

A new rumor, posted on Twitter by insider Stealth, relayed that a reliable leaker feels that two re-releases will drop on the Nintendo Switch next year:

New rumor from PH Brazil (the person who first said Switch was delayed to Q1 2025).

In 2025, Switch will be receiving two re-releases, one from GameCube and one from 3DS.

Something to note here is that we don’t know when the Switch 2 will arrive, so these games could be released BEFORE that systems launch, thus ensuring people are still playing the OG Switch before getting its successor. There are multiple games that could be up for a remastered/remake treatment, so we’ll be talking about options in the next episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!
