Assassin’s Creed Shadows Trailer and Release Date Revealed, Collector’s Edition Available

At long last, after two years of waiting, Ubisoft has revealed what was once codenamed Assasin’s Creed Red as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the next part of a series that seemingly knows no end. During today’s reveal of the game, Ubisoft showed off a new trailer that showcased the game and gave us a look at the two protagonists of the game: Naoe, a shinobi, and Yasuku, a samurai and one that is based upon a character who existed in Japan during the 16 century.

Live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.

Discover the captivating open world of feudal Japan, from spectacular castle towns and bustling ports to peaceful shrines and pastoral landscapes. Adventure through unpredictable weather, changing seasons, and reactive environments.

As the quick-witted and agile Naoe, use noise, light, and shadows to evade detection as enemies respond to their changing surroundings. Distract guards using kunai, shuriken, and smoke bombs, infiltrate enemy bases with your grappling hook and parkour skills, and assassinate your targets with the hidden blade.

As the charismatic samurai Yasuke, strike your foes with brutal precision and power. Use his combat-oriented skills to attack, block, parry, and defeat your enemies. Master the vast arsenal of weapons at your disposal – featuring katana, kanabo, bows, naginata, and more – to free Japan from its oppressors.

As rumored, this will also be the first current-generation Assassin’s Creed title, as Shadows will skip the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and instead will only be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Lunda, Mac, and PC via the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store. when released. The release date is November 15, 2024, so right before or during the 2024 shopping holiday.

Check out the reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, below.

In addition to this trailer, another one was released that focuses on Naoe and Yasuke. The game director, Charles Benoit, and the associate narrative director, Brooke Davies, discuss what went into making these characters and how they fit into this new title.

Check out that video here.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Lunda, Mac, and PC via the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store.

There’s also an Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition that was revealed, and it looks pretty interesting. However, according to Twitter user Wario64, this appears to be a Gamestop exclusive. I’m not sure why companies keep going back to Gamestop, but it is what it is.

The collector’s edition pages and preorders on Gamestop are live, and apparently, it’s only available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
