No Rest For The Wicked – How to Unlock Housing

By Keith MitchellApril 21, 2024
No Rest for the Wicked - Buying a house-06

I’ve been playing more than my share of No Rest For The Wicked, and I’ve recently discovered how to get access to the housing in the game. Despite this being an early access title, not everything is in the game, but it’s nice to see that Moon Studios still put this in, so we can see how it works.

Below, I’ve outlined the steps to get access to housing in No Rest For The Wicked. This isn’t spelled out in the game, so hopefully, this guide will help you in the early access version and the full version once it is released.

How to get a house in No Rest For The Wicked

Before I go into this, I have to mention that this is a bit of a spoiler. That said, before you can get access to housing in the game, you must fight Falstead Darak again as part of the finale of the “Of Rats and Raiders” questline. But this time, it will be in the sewer, and he’ll have two forms this time around. We’ll talk about that in another guide.

However, once you’ve beaten Falstead Darak for the second time, you’ll make your way back to the town of Sacrament. After a cut scene, you’ll be able to roam about the town again. Upon opening the map, you’ll see that there are three housing icons. No Rest for the Wicked - Buying a house-01

When you head to any of the houses, you’ll be notified that the housing has been unlocked.

No Rest for the Wicked - Buying a house-02The downside to getting access to the housing is that it is expensive, and the houses range from 20 to 30 silver.

  • The Manor, located towards the top costs 30 silver.
  • The Homestead, located in the middle, costs 25 silver.
  • The Roost, located towards the right, costs 20 silver.

This pricing may be far more money than you have on you at the time. I’d recommend selling anything you don’t need and doing the daily and weekly quests to earn more money to purchase a house. No Rest for the Wicked - Buying a house-03 Once you manage to get the required money, it’s definitely worth the effort to own a house. The upside is you can buy various devices from Danos that you can then place in your home. These range from an alchemy table, furnace, anvil, and basically everything you can do in the marketplace but from the comfort of your own home. You can even make potions or make a bed to sleep in! However, you still can’t, or that I’ve seen as of yet, repair or have access to a larger chest to place your items in.

I’d also purchase a few of the small chests from the vendor Whittakcer. That way, you won’t have to head back to the rookery every time you need something.
