Does Lies of P Have Multiplayer?

By Keith MitchellSeptember 15, 2023
Lies of P - Summon Specter

Lies of P, the upcoming Soulslike, is a few days away from being released, I’m sure you all can’t wait to dive into it. However, just like the Soulslike games from FROMSOFTWARE, the game does have a few parts (well, a lot of parts) that perhaps having some assistance from a friend would be helpful. So, you’re here trying to find out if the game has any sort of multiplayer component to help you get through the game.

I’m right, aren’t I? Well, read on to find out if Lies of P has multiplayer or not.

Well, does Lies of P have multiplayer?

Sadly, the game does not have any sort of multiplayer when it comes to having a friend jump in and play with you. So, that is a bit of a bummer. However, you can still summon CPU-controller characters to help you allow the way. However, unlike the FROMSOFTWARE games, you can only summon the CPU character, called a Specter, right before you fight a boss.

And even then, you need a certain item called the “Star Fragment” to summon them.

The bad thing is that every time you summon a character to help on a boss fight, you lose that Star Fragment. But thankfully, they are easily farmed. And trust me, you’re going to want to farm a bunch of them if you want to complete this game. Well, not unless you’re some sort of super amazing Soulslike player, and you very well could be.

I know that’s likely not the answer you wanted, but at least you don’t have to fight the bosses on your own. The CPU-controlled characters aren’t completely bad, and at the very least, they’re good at drawing attention from the bosses away from you. I can’t tell you if calling one in raises the difficulty or not, I couldn’t tell.

Lies of P releases for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 19, 2023. If you’re a Soulslike fan, like I am, trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this game. Until then, why not give our review of the game a read? We loved it, and outside a few issues, this is easily one of the better Soulslike titles that wasn’t produced by Fromsoftware.
