Don’t Miss the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta from May 16th to May 19th

Street Fighter 6 Open Beta May 2023

Capcom has revealed that it will be hosting a Street Fighter 6 Open Beta that will take place from May 19 to May 21, 2023. This will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Morely than likely, this will be to stress test the infrastructure and ensure that it’s up to snuff ahead of the June 2, 2023, release of Street Fighter 6.

While we’ve been pretty vocal at the lackluster Street Fighter 6 demo that was released two weeks ago, things look to be different this time around. Unlike the demo, this latest hands-on with Street Fighter 6 will come with lots of content to play with while we wait for the full release. In addition, there will be a much bigger roster with Ryu, Ken, Kimberly, Guile, Chun-Li, Juri, Jamie, and Luke being playable. That said, I would have still liked to have gotten some hands-on with the rest of the Street Fighter 6 roster.

The Street Fighter 6 open beta will include the following;

  • Ranked Matches (Online)
  • Casual Matches (Online)
  • Battle Hub Matches (Online)
  • Open Tournaments (Online)
  • Extreme Battle Mode (Online)
  • Game Center (Online)
  • Training Mode

It’s interesting to see Capcom dropping this open beta out of nowhere, yet part of me thinks this is due to the SF6 demo not being “meaty” enough. That and having that pirated SF6 beta that’s making the rounds could also be a reason why.

Needless to say that Capcom is looking mighty confident will the updates and reveals for Street Fighter 6, and despite having been vested in fighting games for quite some time, I can’t wait to jump back into the game. I loved the first two betas, I’ll be playing the open beta, and I’ll be picking up the game on day one.

Street Fighter 6 launches onto the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) on June 2, 2023.
