Tatsuhisa Suzuki Removed as Draken, OLDCODEX to Disband

By Josh PiedraDecember 28, 2021

Ever since his marriage issues with singer LiSA became apparent, things have gone downhill for Tatsuhisa Suzuki.

The first announcement came from the official website of Tokyo Revengers where it made it clear that they were replacing Suzuki and finding a new voice actor for the Draken character. This decision was made after ongoing negotiations between his talent agency and the anime’s production committee were had. Suzuki was also absent from the Tokyo Mankikai Tachikawa Touring event.

Suzuki will also not be returning as Anos Voldigoad in The Misfit of Demon King Academy; however, he will continue with a singular role… that of Makoto in the FREE! franchise.

Less than a week after that announcement, it was also announced that Suzuki’s band, OLDCODEX, will be breaking up in April of 2022. The band wishes to finish after the final FREE! anime movie wraps up its theme song.

Suzuki stated that he “sincerely apologize to everyone for the trouble caused by my irresponsible and inappropriate behavior” and is taking this time off due to “physical and mental fatigue.”
