God of War heads to PC on January 14th, 2022

God of War on PC

BOI! It finally happened!

It finally happened my fellow PC gamers. PlayStation has announced that its mega-hit title, God of War, is heading to the PC. Announced for a January 14, 2022 release date and priced at $49.99, God of War on PC will also include updated graphics, 4K support, Ultra-wide monitor support, and will also incorporate Nvidia’s DLSS and Reflex.

Interestingly, God of War was one of several games included in the Nvidia GeForce Now leak. Initially, many assumed this was fake, and the PlayStation exclusive couldn’t be heading to the PC. With today’s announcement, we now know this is happening, and I couldn’t be happier.

God of War PC is already available for pre-order on Steam as well.

When PlayStation said they wanted to bring more games to the PC, they weren’t kidding. We’ve already seen several PlayStation title releases for the PC, including Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Death Stranding. It wasn’t that long ago that the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection was also announced for PC, and now God of War is coming.

Ok, now for the part I don’t think I should have to talk about, but I am. Whenever we see a game that was once exclusive to one platform, there’s always a group of people who don’t like that decision, which is silly on so many levels. In this instance, you have a game that many have declared as one of the best gaming experiences ever. Now PlayStation has a chance to reach out to more gamers, gamers who never owned a PlayStation for any number of reasons. As the Hulk said in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, I see this as a win. And if you don’t, well, I don’t know what to say about that.

It’s still not Bloodborne, but it will do. Look for God of War on PC next January 14, 2022.
