Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition For PS5 And Xbox Series X|S, Free Upgrade For Existing Owners

By Keith MitchellFebruary 25, 2021

Mortal Shell, one of the surprise hits of 2020 and a favorite of mine because I love action RPGs, is being enhanced.

On March 4th, Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition will be made available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.  The upgraded version will be priced at $29.99. Those who already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the enhanced version for free.

What’s so enhanced about it? How about 60 frames per second, ultra-high-quality textures, and 4K resolution (just not one Xbox Series S)? Oh yeah, put those next-gen (or is it current-gen?) consoles to work and let them show you why you spend so much money on them. The PlayStation 5 version will also support the DualSense controllers’ Haptic Feedback, adding to the game’s immersion.

Mortal Shell is the sleeper hit, taking a number of influences from the “Souls” games that we’ve all either love or hate. Enjoyable combat and a unique spin on the traditional armor system by swapping, allowing the player to swap into several different shells. Change your shell to adapt the skills it possesses, each with a unique style of gameplay,

While you’re here, check out our review of the game here. We (I) simply loved the game. And with the enhanced edition being released, it looks like I’ll be diving back into the game.
