Days Gone Store Page Live On Steam, System Requirements Are Up

Yesterday, PlayStation’s Jim Ryan announced that Days Gone was heading to the PC this Spring 2021. And as of today, we can see that he wasn’t joking, and the Steam store page is live. This is great, as it provides answers to several of mine and likely your questions.

Along with the system requirements, which I’ve posted below, we can see that the game is getting some nice enhancements. I’m talking about unlocked framerates (YES!), ultrawide monitor support (YES!), improved graphics, increased details, FOV, and foliage draw distances. There’s no mention of DLSS, but I’m still hopeful it will get added. Or maybe it won’t, but only Bend Studios knows for sure.

I’m looking forward to playing this at 1440p, on my ultrawide monitor, and at max settings. More specifically, I’m curious regarding the performance of the game and the overall status of the port. Being a PC gamer, I always wonder what effort is put into porting a game that was originally a console over to the PC. And we’ve seen two former PlayStation 4 titles, Death Stranding (I know it wasn’t exclusive) and Horizon Zero Dawn. While Death Stranding was an amazing port, Horizon Zero Dawn had its fair share of performance issues. The game is in a better place than it was when it was released, but it’s still not perfect, but definitely playable. This is why I’m curious about the Days Gone port and I’ll be going hands-on once the game arrives on Steam.

What’s more interesting is that the title isn’t being published by PlayStation, but by PlayStation Mobile. A company that has only been responsible for publishing one PlayStation game to the PC, HellDivers. This may likely change, but that’s who’s listed for now.
