Bungie Files Cease and Desist Against Destiny 2 Cheat Provider PerfectAim

That’s one less cheat provider that Destiny 2 players will have to worry about.

Bungie has taken a massive step today by filing a cease and desist against PerfectAim, one largest provider of cheats that have been plaguing the PC version of Destiny 2. As such, PerfectAim released the following statement on its website.

A claim has been made by Bungie, Inc. (“Bungie”) suggesting that this product violates the game’s license agreement. Furthermore, a demand was made that we cease and desist from selling this product.

We won’t comment on whether these claims are justified or not, but have decided to comply with this demand regardless. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers.

PerfectAim is no longer legally allowed to host the cheats, produce or sell them. If they do, they’ll end up in court with Bungie and I’m sure that’s not a situation they’ll want to force.
PerfectAim isn’t new to the cheat scene and has been producing cheats for games such as Apex Legends, Sea of Thieves, as well as Destiny 2, for quite some time. To the point where PC gamers, including myself, had started to give up hope that Bungie would do something about the rampant cheating. With the cheats being readily available PVP modes in Destiny 2, such as Gambit, Crucible, and Trials of Osiris, simply ceased being fun as more and more players started turning towards the cheats.
This development doesn’t instantly remove any of the cheats already released by PerfectAim. What it does mean is the next time Bungie rolls out a patch or update for the game, those cheats will be nullified. And you can be sure that Bungie is already working on an update.

With Bungie sending this C&D, hopefully, this means the company is ready to take the fight to both the cheats and the companies that produce them, seriously.  While taking PerfectAim out of the picture is a big step, there’s still quite a few other providers of Destiny 2 cheats out there. With the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, Destiny 2: Beyond Light being released next month, I doubt this will be the last we hear of Bungie waging war against other cheat providers.
In Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the Darkness has come, and now the guardians have turned to the forgotten moon of Europa to discover new Stasis – Ice and Cold-based abilities, and to met this looming threat head-on.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be released on November 10th, 2020, for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the expansion will be released on December 8th, 2020.
