Another day, another studio announces delays. This time around, it’s our good friends at Sony, who announced several days for their upcoming films. First and foremost, their Spider-Man universe movies have been all pushed back. Yes, that does include the Marvel-Sony ones too.
The third movie in the Sony-Marvel Spider-Man universe has been delayed to November 5, 2021. This move also displaced the Disney-Marvel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sequel, which is now set to premiere to March 25, 2022. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse 2 is now set to come out six months later than originally planned, on October 7, 2022.
But Sony doesn’t want to leave nerds hanging. Instead, they’ve moved their adaptation of the popular video game Uncharted up to July 16, 2021. It’s not quite the film fans were hoping to see next summer, but I’m reserving any judgements until we get at least a trailer.
Sony also delayed their upcoming adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s The Nightengale, Kevin Hart drama Fatherhood, and comedy The Man from Toronto. They moved up Hotel Transylvania 4 to August 6, 2021.
