Loot Crate gets a second chance at life, now known as The Loot Company

Back in August 2019, the popular gift box service Loot Crate announced they had filed for bankruptcy and had laid off a number of its staff. Things were looking bleak for the company that was synonymous with cool swag and was well known in geek culture. However, as of a few days ago, things were looking up for the company.

They recently announced that they’re no longer filing for bankruptcy and have now partnered with NECA. Yep, one of the larger companies that produce various limited edition figurines and collectibles. It would appear that these two companies will be able to supplement each other very nicely. That’s not all, as the company now has a new name along with the partnership. Loot Crate is no longer a thing, and The Loot Company will be the name of the company going forth.

All of which is fantastic news for everyone, the fans, and the employees. Here’s to hoping those who were laid off eventually end up getting their jobs back. According to The Loot Company, we’ll hear more about the changes at a later date.

That all said, one has to wonder at what caused Loot Crate to fall into the previous situation they were in have been corrected. From various reports from former employees, things had been going downhill for some time. At least for now, the business is running as previous and orders are now being filled.
