Why Doesn’t Luigi’s Mansion 3 Have A Release Date?

E3 2019 has come and gone, and fans are still talking about a great many things. Not the least of which is the Nintendo Direct Conference that gave a greater insight into 2019 and a tease of 2020 for the Nintendo Switch. However, while many games were revealed, and many release dates touted, one game that is scheduled for 2019 didn’t get a release date in full…Luigi’s Mansion 3.

While the new trailer for the game explained everything we need to know about the title (see it below), the release date for the game has only been touted as “2019”. Which seems odd given that we’re basically halfway through 2019. So why not reveal a release date?

According to Bill Trinnen of Nintendo in an interview with Polygon, it has to do with Nintendo’s policy of not releasing a game early.

Specifically, developer Next Level Games is, “putting a lot of care into the game. We want to let them put the care into it they want, so we’re waiting on them to let us know and we’ll solidify the release date.”

Given the demo of the game showed at the Nintendo E3 Treehouse, gamers got to see that the game is in good form. Leaving many to think it’ll release in either October or December, when there’s no other 1st Party releases. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
