Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 Are Now Backward Compatible On Xbox One

By Keith MitchellOctober 9, 2018
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Out of nowhere, Konami has delivered not one, but two classic Metal Gear Sold titles with backward compatibility for the Xbox One. That’s right, both Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 are now playable on the Xbox One.

Thank you, Konami!

This collection is also available in the Xbox store for just $19.99! That’s too good to pass up. Of course, if you already own the HD collection or the titles individually, you can play it just as well.

While I enjoyed MGS2 back in the day. I missed out on MGS3, a decision that’s haunted me to this day. Well, time to fix that mistake. And yes, I know it was available on multiple systems. I know, I know. Also, if you’ve never played either of them and are interested in doing so now. Be sure play MGS3 first, as it comes before the second game. Don’t play me, I didn’t make up the timeline.

This also means that you can pretty much play the entirety of the Metal Gear Solid series on the Xbox One. With the exceptions being the first game in the series and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Sadly, both are PlayStation exclusive titles, so don’t expect to see them anytime soon – if ever.

Also, that intro song was and still is badass.
