Mega Man 11 Receives a One-Shot Manga

It was announced by Shogakukan’s official website that the upcoming Mega Man 11 (Rockman 11 in Japan) game will receive a 26-page one-shot manga drawn by Ryo Takamisaki. Takamisaki previously worked on the Mega Man NT Warrior (Rockman.EXE) manga series. The manga is set to run on Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Aniki magazine on September 15. There haven’t been any announcements about what the story of the manga will pertain or how (if at all) it will relate to the video game. The Mega Man NT Warrior manga had its own unique story that differed from the video game which also differed from the anime adaptation.

If interested in the NT Warrior manga, VIZ Media holds the license to publish the manga in North America.

Mega Man 11 releases in the West on October 2 and in Japan on October 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. A playable demo is available to download right now where players can try out Block Man’s stage and boss fight. Capcom is running an initiative for players to upload their footage of them completing the stage and using the hashtag #BustBlockMan when doing so. When enough defeats are submitted, Capcom will unlock special one-time-use items for people who downloaded the demo to use in the full version of the game!

Mega Man 11 is the first game in the classic series to release since 2010. A pachislot (slot machine) game in Japan called Rockman Ability has also been released and these two releases have been described as the beginning of a 10-year plan to revitalize the Mega Man franchise.
