The PC Is getting is very first Digimon title with Digimon Survive

By Keith MitchellJuly 31, 2018
Digimon Survive announced for PS4, Xbox One , PC and Switch

Fans of Digimon who also happen to be PC gamers have been asking for the Digimon games to make the crossover to the platform. So far, those requests and pleas were ignored. But thankfully, the surge of Japanese games making their way to the PC has shed a new light on the platform. Which also means that Digimon is finally debuting on the PC. Yep, the upcoming Digimon Survive is coming to the PC.

It’s also coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well. It’s not just a PC thing, everyone is getting some love with this game.

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Digimon anime, Digimon Survive presents an original adventure set in a mysterious world with characters designed by Uiti Ukumo, and music composed by the much-acclaimed Tomoki Miyoshi. Digimon Survive is a fresh new game with a unique timeline that does not correlate with other Digimon series, allowing the player to discover and learn about the Digimon world together with the characters.

In Digimon Survive, a group of teenagers led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip and find themselves transported to a strange world of monsters and danger. As they fight their way back home through a 3D world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies, and the final ending.

It also looks like this new title won’t have any connection with the previous Digimon games. Allowing newcomers and veterans a chance to check out a whole new Digimon experience. It also sounds like the game won’t be in the same fashion as the previous games either. So it will be interesting to see some actual gameplay.  Hopefully, we’ll see this at Gamescom 2018.

Now, I don’t follow Digimon anymore, but I used to love the show and games. However, this is great news for the growing crowd of PC gamers. More Japanese and niche games making their way over is a win for everyone.

Look for Digimon Survive when drops later in 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
