Splatoon 2 Gets Release Window For New Maps

By Todd BlackMarch 18, 2018
Splatoon 2

The latest Nintendo Direct sent a lot of shockwaves throughout the gaming world (and yes, a lot of it was because of Smash Bros being officially announced). One of the bigger announcements though was about Splatoon 2 and the content that players could expect over the next few months. Update 3.0 is set to change the game in many fun ways, the Octo Expansion will be a game changer as well. But there’s also three new maps coming as well.

On the officially Splatoon 2 Japanese Twitter feed, the team revealed some release windows for the new maps. First up, Pirahna Pit will arrive before the end of the month. Given that it’s the 18th (at the time of this posting), that means we’ll have another new map in less than two weeks.

After that will mark the return of Camp Triggerfish. That one is scheduled for the end of April, so about a month after the Pit’s release. Finally, the brand new map Wahoo World will arrive in June. Maybe to tie into the arrival of E3? It’s hard to say.

Regardless, the game is going to be bringing more fun with every month that passes. And we’re already looking forward to the next Splatfest that’ll hopefully be announced within the next few weeks.
