Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Sells 500,000 Copies In Just One Week

Well, I did say that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was an amazing game. A game that takes the coop antics of titles such as Left 4 Dead and the original Vermintide title, combines it with a better loot system. It’s fun, pure unadulterated fun, yet I would never have imagined that the game would go on to sell the way that it has. In under a weeks time, the game has gone on to sell more than 500,000 copies.

The Fatshark CEO, Martin Wahlund, had this to say about the milestone.

“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts.” “500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”

An amazing accomplishment and one that is well-deserved. Ever since I got my hands on the title, I’ve pretty much dropped every other game. During a time where there are so many titles out, some which many consider GOTY considers, that’s saying something.

500,000 copies sold, and the game hasn’t even been released on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. I can only imagine how fast this game is going to hit 1 million plus copies when it is released on those platforms. Or even better, before it gets released for either of them.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is priced at $29.99, which is steal for a game that is pretty much a total package. Not to mention that Fatshark has already outlined their roadmap for the remainder of 2018. Which includes new maps, dedicated server support (Thank Sigmar!) and mod support.

However, it’s not all sunshine and puppies, as the game has its fair share of issues. Such as certain talents not working correctly, balancing issues and a problem with the crafting system. None the less, Fatshark has committed to righting those wrongs in several upcoming patches.

And since you’re here, why not check out our review of Warhammer: Vermindtide 2. We simply loved it!
