Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Has Not Sold Well In UK

By Todd BlackSeptember 25, 2017
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

So, by now you know just how Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite has been received by both fans and critics. On one hand, the gameplay of the title seems to be on point, if not moreso than previous entries, which is saying something when you think about it. But, the story mode, character models, and more have been ripped to shreds. Not to mention the fact that because of the latter, fans didn’t really care about the former, which appears to be affecting the games sales. Especially in the UK.

How bad did it do week 1 in the UK you ask? Well, it was 12th on the charts. 12th! For a major fighting game franchise that (love it or hate it) has had a lot of hype, and loyal fans. And yet, it only got 12th in sales. But that’s not the only reason this is a big blow. Check out this tweet:

I am not sure what went wrong with Marvel vs Capcom II at UK retail. Fighter fatigue? Street Fighter on Switch sold better week 1

For the record, that is a confirmed statements. Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, a game that is an “update” of a 25 year old title sold better in its week 1 over Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite.

Now, granted, the UK isn’t the US, or even Japan (the homes of Marvel and Capcom), so those sales could be much grander than the UK’s. Still, the UK is a major sector in the gaming market. So if it’s not doing well there, it’s noteworthy.
