3D Platformer Sonic Dream Team revealed for Apple Arcade

By Keith MitchellNovember 1, 2023
Sonic Dream Team - Apple Arcade Reveal

Sega has revealed a brand-new 3D action platformer title, called “Sonic Dream Team” for the Apple Arcade, being released on December 5th, 2023. This new Sonic adventure will see Sonic the Hedgehog going up against his nemesis, Dr. Eggman/Robotnik, after he discovers an item called the Reverie. With this, Eggman can manifest dreams, bringing them to life, and has captured Sonic’s friends.

Yet again, it’s up to Sonic to save his friends and end Dr. Eggman’s nightmarish dreams of world domination. Judging from the video, the levels will have Sonic and friends doing their typical thing: running, jumping, grabbing rings, and putting the smackdown on some bosses. The levels look fun and remind me of the older Sonic the Hedgehog titles… it has that vibe going for it.

I’ll be honest this came out of nowhere, but it does look like fun, and I’m a sucker for a Sonic the Hedgehog game. Who can say no to a Sonic game and one that will be released around the holidays? Not me! And no, I won’t be playing on a touch screen; this calls for a controller—touch screen gaming…. yuck.

Four spectacular boss battles will test your skills across the different movement types.
  • Never-Before-Seen Dream Worlds
We’re not in Green Hill anymore! Play through 12 intricate levels set within four unique dream worlds with mind-bending environments that include wall-running, gravity changes, and more.
  • Combining Mobile and Cross-Platform Experiences
Sonic Dream Team bridges the gap between mobile and console, allowing players a quality experience across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
