There are many reasons I love being a Nintendo gamer, and the past few weeks and the upcoming two months are excellent examples of that. You see, the Nintendo Switch 2 is dominating right now in the sales department, with Mario and Donkey Kong raking up great sales, too. Plus, we just had a big release with Pokemon Legends Z-A, and…we’re just two days away from the release of Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment. In other words, I’ve been feasting on some great gaming lately, and by all accounts, the game I’m soon to review will be just as good.
Over on Metacritic, Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment currently has a score of 78. That’s not bad for a genre, Musou, that isn’t exactly the most popular in the gaming space. But don’t think that this means the game isn’t worth getting, or that it won’t sell. As I’ll remind you, the last entry in this series, Age of Calamity, sold 3.5 million in no time flat. I gave that game a 4.5/5 because it was a lot of fun!
Plus, this one won’t do an “alternative history” take on things, but instead, flesh out Princess Zelda’s journey from Tears of the Kingdom when she went back in time to stop Ganondorf alongside King Rauru and Queen Sonia.
There are new elements to the gameplay this go around, and many of the reviews praised it and the game’s story. So, as with all reviews, you don’t have to take them “at their word.” If you’re interested in this game, get it and see what you think of it! I certainly will, and I can’t wait to see what it offers.
