Nintendo Drops Creepy Horror-Themed Game Teaser For “Emio”

Who is Emio?
By Todd BlackJuly 10, 2024
Nintendo, Emio

Nintendo hasn’t been afraid to put horror games on its platforms in the past, but they have been in the minority, regarding how many actually release. You can think of ones like Fatal Frame, Eternal Darkness, or even Zombi U as examples of those games. However, every time, The Big N is merely a publisher for the game, not the developer. Today, the company dropped a unique video called “Emio,” and it’s absolutely teasing a horror-themed title. Outside of that, though, we know nothing.

“Emio” apparently translates to “Smiling Man,” and that would be an adequate description of everything we see in the video with the “figure” that dons a smiley-faced bag. What is going on here? What is Nintendo trying to tease? What is this new game coming to the Switch? We’ll have to wait and see…
