Dragon Age: The Veilguard Difficulty Settings Explained

BioWare‘s Dragon Age: The Veilguard, set to release on PS5, offers an array of difficulty settings designed to be inclusive. Game director Corinne Busche emphasizes that these options ensure players of all abilities can fully enjoy the game.

The game features four main difficulty settings. The first, Storyteller, focuses on the narrative, making combat less challenging. The second, Adventurer, balances story and combat for those who want a bit of both. The third, Nightmare, is the hardest and cannot be changed once selected.

For players seeking more customization, the Unbound setting allows detailed adjustments. This includes tweaking wayfinding assistance, aim settings, combat timing, enemy damage, and player damage. Players can even activate a no-death option for an easier experience.

Busche reassures players that these options are not cheats but ways to ensure everyone can participate and enjoy the game. The inclusive approach extends beyond difficulty settings, with character creation options reflecting this ethos.
