Crunchyroll Unveils Brand Makeover

By Josh PiedraJuly 19, 2024

Ahead of their industry panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Crunchyroll has unveiled a brand-new look for their company.

Crunchyroll states that the new look, feel, and sound reflect the joy that anime brings to fans worldwide. The goal is to focus on the ethos of fun and celebration.

They released a new video which shows the transformation to their new branding. You can check it out below:

The rebrand is set to kick off at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25 with a full rollout happening over the next year.

Included in their rebrand is:

  • A modernized logo with a balanced eye symbol and revamped watermark.
  • A new font set called Crunchyroll Atyp, blending classic and modern elements for improved readability.
  • A vibrant color system featuring orange, black, white and taupe.
  • The new glyph system–over 139 anime and manga-inspired characters, adding depth and personality.
  • A new seven-second audio-visual mnemonic to capture the immersive Crunchyroll experience with anime-inspired sound design and playful elements.
  • Collaborations with Japanese artists on new textures and patterns to further enhance the brand’s authenticity and immersive storytelling.
