During the Xbox Showcase, Doom: The Dark Ages, the next chapter of the reboot of the Doom series, was revealed. Not much was shown outside of Doom guy riding some massive dragon, suiting up in a massive mecha suit, and doing what he does best.

The title was announced for the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 and will be available on Game Pass. And yes, everything that has been rumored has been officially announced. The title isn’t slated to be released until 2025.

Doom: The Dark Ages is the upcoming entry in the legendary Doom series, set to release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Developed by id Software, this game represents a significant departure from the futuristic settings of its predecessors, opting instead for a quasi-medieval environment. Despite the setting change, it retains the series’ iconic fast-paced, first-person shooter gameplay.

The game, originally codenamed “Year Zero,” is notable for being the first Doom title developed entirely under Microsoft’s ownership, following their acquisition of Bethesda and Zenimax. One of the intriguing new mechanics in “Doom: The Dark Ages” is the introduction of a chainsaw shield, blending medieval and modern elements in the combat system.

You can currently wishlist Doom: The Dark Ages on the following platforms.

Microsoft Store
PlayStation
Steam
