Wayfinder Guide – How to Acquire a Mount in Wayfinder

When it comes to MMORPGs, mounts are a great way to travel the world, include utility functions, and can even be a form of status. And this is no different in Wayfinder, the latest MMO for PC, PS4, and PS5, which launched via Early Access.

However, as the game was just released, there’s not a lot of information about the game, especially the mounts. Which is why you’re here, I imagine. So, how do you get a mount? Well, you may like what I’m about to tell you.

How do I get a Mount in the MMO Wayfinder

Short and Sweet, the only way that anyone can get a mount in Wayfinder, currently, is to pony up the cash and pay for either the Wayfinder Awakened Pack ($89.99) or Exalted Pack ($149.99), which will give players the Strider. As you can see, both of those founder packs are quite pricey. Of course, if you want to help support the developers, paying more helps them out.

That said, is it worth it paying so much for a mount? Well, that depends on you. If you come from other MMORPGs, and you’ve dropped hundreds of real-life money on mounts, I suppose you know the deal. But for those who care about their money, I’m going to say that it isn’t worth it.

There aren’t enough areas where having a mount is required or makes the game traversal easier. While the developers have planned on adding those areas later, you don’t need them now. Wanting and needing them are quite different.

Adding to that, they’ll be adding more mounts at a later date, but we don’t know how we’ll acquire them. Maybe we’ll have to pay in-game currency. Maybe they’ll be rewards. We’ll have to wait and find out.

Wayfinder was released on August 17th, 2023, for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
